Pray for Paris, indeed. Prayer heals. Although, grieving and mourning does not heal, positive affirmations heal. But what about the devastation of what is happening globally, like bombings in Beirut? There was a double suicide attack in Beirut on this past Thursday, 43 people dead and 240 injured, they were killed at random, in a bustling urban area, while going about their normal evening business. Pray for Paris, indeed Paris needs LOVE. But so does the rest of the world.
How about the attack on May 13th where a bus carrying Shia Muslims was attacked by six armed gunman who rode up in motorcycles. After the attack the bus driver drove straight to a hospital, where people said most of the riders were either dead, unconscious, and spattered in blood. There were 45 people who died and 13 injured. Did you facebook a prayer there?
Oh yeah, what about the burning in Cameroon on February 4th of this year. Boko Haram militants reportedly killed at least 91 people by shooting and burning, and injured over 500 in the Fotokol town of Cameroon. The militants also torched mosques and churches of the town. Pray. Pray. Pray.
What about the attack in Tunisian. It’s in North Africa. The Sousse attack occurred on the 26th of June 2015 in the Tunisian town of Sousse. Killing 38 innocent people. And 40 others were injured. Did you pray for them?
And that same day in Kuwait, at least 27 people were killed and another 227 were injured after a suicide bombing at the Imam Sadiq mosque in Kuwait City, Kuwait. So many people, too often. How often do you actually pray on a daily basis for the world? Just because your life is beautiful, does not mean that someone else is not suffering. I am not saying to always be in a state of prayer for those less fortunate. Because that type of mourning can be debilitating. Prayer holds a lower vibration, compared to manifestation of gratitude; for a higher belief for humanity. Many people “beg God” for things, and in prayer, many people give sympathy and angst. Prayer should reflect upon the bad, in recognition with your consciousness of what has transpired, yet meditate to manifest enlightenment. WORLD PEACE COMES WITH SELF LOVE. Enlightenment changes the world.
But don’t go on a maddened outcry for just Paris.. pray for the world. How about this, forget people. What about the animals on this earth. Did you know that over 800 cats and dogs are put down, euthanasia every hour on the hour on the hour. So, basically in one day, over 19,248 cats and dogs killed each day. Whether they are euthanized from disease or just being not wanted. Is there a correlation you ask? “I thought we were talking about prayer for Paris?” Well, yes, but prayer is for all of humanity.
How about this.. don’t pray for others, pray for yourself to be a better person. To be less selfish. GIVE MORE. (from the heart, without wanting anything back). To actually be a person of your word. One of the reasons I left Facebook, is because there are so many people I have met that have acted so superficial on the inside; promising to do things for you, and then they bail out with ignorance. Not ignorance of lack of intelligence, but they ignore your letters on Facebook. And then when you reach out again, they still ignore you. It’s one thing to see that they read your letter, and it’s another thing to know someone has no intention of writing back. Again, what does this have to do with Paris or Prayer? Well, it’s in correlation to a person’s compassion. Humanity to another human. Many lack it. To “ignore” is a derivative of the word ignorance. People on purpose, basically set you aside and “ignore” you. And that is the travesty of this world. We ignore what we don’t want to see.
And to me the act of being ignored comes from lack of connection of compassion. Why don’t we pray for compassion? How about that. Fuck world peace. Why not pray for our own compassion. Be KIND. Be generous with your word, and quit being selfish with selfie after selfie of showing how blessed your life is. It’s awesome to rejoice in our material things.. but it gets old when it’s consistent. How about: Give back to society. Selfie with what you GIVE to this world. Let’s do something for another person, without having to announce our own personal gifts. That’s something to brag about.
Over the course of the year, there have been over 299 incidences to date of global tragedies, I may be off by a number. Is anyone talking about the 298 suicide bombings and massacres and human slaughterings that have happened? We glamorize what the news wants us to. I thought we were smarter than that. Why not bless another person’s world. Become human through humanity, on a daily basis.. not when you feel threatened. Be a person of your word, and actually give without expecting anything back.. like praise. Be soulful. Now that’s something to pray about.
God bless. Namaste.
