It’s more than just hair
When you bare
Your soul
And vanished your locks as a whole
They say it is donated
Rather traded
In a religious shrine
To them it’s a sacrifice of the divine
The Hindu tradition
As they are put in this position
Meaning, their silky strands from birth
Emanates their worth
And is associated with undesirable traits
From these past lives and other celestial dates
As the story goes
When their bangs grow beyond and past their nose
The child is freshly shaven and everything is cut off
(I beg to differ.. cough.. scoff)
Because it is supposed to signify freedom and liberation
From their reincarnation of damnation
Moving their essence into the future forthcoming
Supposedly their hearts have ascended and their Buddhism humming
Yet, there is another business at hand
Now their commodity is in such demand
Where their precious clippings are sold in the Asian market of trade
Money is being made
From these bundles, wigs and weaves
The transition from innocence to coins certainly deceives
I hope my client understands the sacrifice of such a gift
And their consciousness does thee shift
When they wear one of my hand colored tresses
Furthermore, blesses
The mortal who honorably offered a part of her beauty
In all actuality, being grateful what you’ve taken is your spiritual duty
